We take your privacy seriously. Here's how we protect your information and handle your donations securely.
How We Handle Your Payment Information
All payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor — the highest level of certification available. Your credit card numbers, bank account details, and other sensitive financial data never touch our servers.
When you make a donation, you're redirected to Stripe's secure checkout page where your payment is processed directly by Stripe. We only receive confirmation that the payment was successful, along with the amount donated.
What Data We Store
To provide receipts, maintain donation records for tax purposes, and display our benefactor wall (with your consent), we store only:
- Your name (as provided during donation)
- Your email address (for receipts)
- Donation amount and date
- Payment method type (card, bank, etc. — not actual account numbers)
- A Stripe customer ID (for managing recurring donations)
Recurring Donations
If you set up a recurring donation, Stripe securely stores your payment method on their servers. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through Stripe's Customer Portal — accessible from your benefactor dashboard.
We never have access to your stored payment method details. Only Stripe can process your recurring charges.
Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at strengtheningfamiliesinc@gmail.com. We will remove your personal information from our systems while retaining anonymized donation records as required for nonprofit accounting purposes.
